Qualifications

• Must hold an Occupational Therapy Assistant license in the state of practice.
• Current driver’s license and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
• CPR certification preferred or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work independently.
• Good communication, writing, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow all state laws governing occupational therapy in home care, and follow treatment plans defined by the supervising OT.
• Instruct patients, families, and caregivers in therapy within the scope of the OTA and per state regulations.
• Observe, document, and report patient responses and changes to the nurse supervisor and physician.
• Instruct patients and health-care team members in therapy techniques within the OTA scope.
• Provide care with sensitivity to age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client.
