Qualifications

• BLS for Healthcare Providers (obtained within 90 days) by American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Interprets physician referrals and evaluates the patient's physical, perceptual, cognitive, social, and vocational abilities and their impact on ADLs.
• Establishes a plan of care and implements individual treatment; fabricates assistive devices to enhance independence.
• Monitors outcomes and adjusts treatment plans; communicates with physicians and care team.
• Plans for patient discharge including home programs, teaching, and referrals.
• Completes all required documentation, billing, and scheduling per department policy.
• Maintains patient safety and infection control measures; participates in safety initiatives.
• Manages assigned caseload and coordinates coverage with site leadership.
• Pursues professional growth through continuing education and orientation of new staff.
• Supervises OT assistants and rehab extenders as appropriate.
