Job summary

Simply Innovative Therapies is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide school-based OT services 1-2 days per week on Long Island. This part-time role offers flexibility and a supportive school environment, with direct services aligned to IEP goals and collaboration with educators and families.

The OT will address fine motor, visual-motor, sensory processing, self-care, handwriting, and functional school participation skills, while maintaining documentation and ethics per NYS and

Qualifications

• Current New York State OT license.
• Master's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• School-based or pediatric experience preferred.
• Ability to pass required background checks and school clearances.
• Strong communication, organization, and clinical reasoning skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with school personnel and interdisciplinary team members.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct occupational therapy services to school-age students in accordance with students' IEPs.
• Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and screenings as assigned.
• Address fine motor, visual-motor, sensory processing, self-care, handwriting, and functional school participation skills.
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, families, and other related service providers.
• Provide consultation and practical strategies to school staff to support carryover of skills.
• Monitor student progress toward IEP goals and objectives.
• Complete required documentation, including session notes, progress reports, and evaluations.
• Participate in meetings or consultations as appropriate.
• Maintain ethical and professional standards in accordance with New York State and AOTA guidelines.
