Job summary

Hebrew SeniorLife is seeking a part-time Nursing Supervisor to oversee clinical operations on nursing floors in the absence of the Nurse Manager and Director of Nursing. The role includes managing staffing patterns, ensuring safe care, and supporting quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements include an active MA RN license, a BSN, and preferred ANA certifications in geriatrics or nursing administration, with at least two years of supervisory experience. BLS is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; computer literacy preferred.
• Current Massachusetts license as an RN.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and ANA Certifications in geriatrics and/or nursing administration preferred.
• Minimum of two years supervisory experience in a similar setting; acute care experience recommended.
• Demonstrated leadership ability, particularly in problem solving and staff development.
• BLS Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with patients, families, and health professionals with respect, caring, and sensitivity.
• Make clinical rounds to ensure nursing care is provided appropriately.
• Support nurses in expediting medical intervention during status changes.
• Ensure safety and security measures for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Assess and intervene in crisis and immediate clinical/management circumstances.
• Monitor compliance with nursing standards, policies, and procedures on all floors.
• Adjust staffing and time scheduling to meet needs and resolve problems.
• Collaborate on staffing, scheduling, and annual reviews; implement corrective actions as needed.
• Participate in Quality Improvement programs and nursing advisory committees.
