Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree AND active enrollment in an MSN program
Current license or multistate licensure privilege to practice nursing in Virginia as a registered nurse, unrestricted and undisciplined
Minimum of two years of experience in direct patient care as a registered nurse
Dedication to the community college mission
Experience using a variety of computer software programs and ability to learn new ones, particularly related to online instruction
Ability to teach students effectively and create lessons plans
Passion for the field of Nursing and for teaching
Ability to use creativity, innovation, and compassion to instruct and engage students
Ability to teach a diverse student population

Responsibilities

Teach nursing content across didactic, clinical, lab, or simulation instruction as needed
Develop and deliver lesson plans and assessment strategies
Participate in program assessment and accreditation activities
