Position Information

Job Title: Part‑time – Nursing Instructor

Location: Yuba Community College District, multiple campuses

Description of duties: Provide theory and clinical instruction for the Associate Degree Nursing Program, develop and evaluate the total nursing curriculum, serve as liaison between health agencies and the College, teach in the ADN Nursing Program across various campuses, familiarity with online and interactive TV instruction desired.

Required Qualifications

Credential: Hold a current valid RN license, free from disciplinary action by the California Board of Registered Nursing.

  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • (1) Master’s or higher degree in nursing from an accredited institution; or the higher of that or the Board’s minimum qualifications.
  • (2) Direct patient care experience within the prior 5 years in the assigned nursing area, meetable by either:
    • A. One year continuous full‑time or equivalent experience as RN in the designated area.
    • B. One academic year of RN level clinical teaching experience in the designated area, demonstrating clinical competency.
Assistant Instructor
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a relevant natural, behavioral, or social science.
  • Direct patient care experience within the previous five years in the assigned nursing area, meetable by either:
    • A. One year continuous full‑time or equivalent experience as RN in the designated area.
    • B. One academic year of RN level clinical teaching experience in the designated area, demonstrating clinical competency.
Clinical Teaching Assistant
  • At least one year continuous full‑time or equivalent experience in the designated nursing area within the prior five years as RN providing direct patient care.
Required Duties

Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

Physical demands: Range/Step Class I - VII based on degree and teaching experience.
