Job summary

Midland College in Midland, Texas is seeking a part-time Clinical Instructor for the Associate Degree Nursing program to supervise and evaluate students in clinical settings and the nursing skills lab, with additional classroom teaching possible.

The ideal candidate holds an active TX LVN/RN license, at least three years of varied clinical experience, and a track record of teaching or mentoring students; preferred degrees and simulation lab experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• Current Texas LVN or RN license (unencumbered)
• Minimum of three years of varied clinical experience as LVN or RN
• Demonstrated clinical competency and ongoing nursing knowledge
• Experience educating students, healthcare staff, patients, and/or families
• Degree in nursing preferred (Associate, Bachelor’s, or Master’s)
• Experience teaching nursing courses or precepting in healthcare settings
• Experience teaching in nursing skills or simulation laboratories
• Experience teaching in a classroom or academic setting

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Department Chair and faculty to achieve course outcomes
• Coordinate with course instructor to clarify assignments and expectations
• Select patient assignments aligned with objectives
• Apply evidence-based teaching, supervision, and evaluation principles
• Evaluate student performance and assist with outcome assessment
• Foster relations with clinical partners for high-quality experiences
• Teach and supervise nursing skills in labs and simulations
• Maintain lab organization and cleanliness
• Submit instructional records and documentation timely
