St. Mary's University in San Antonio, TX seeks part-time Clinical Faculty to support nursing students through clinical instruction, supervision, and evaluation.

Responsibilities include teaching in classroom and clinical labs, evaluating student performance, and coordinating with course leaders to ensure alignment with outcomes and accreditation standards. Minimum qualifications include an MSN, an unencumbered Texas RN license, and CPR/BLS certification, with a preference for 2+ years in nursing

Qualifications

• Master's degree in nursing (MSN) is required from an accredited program.
• Unencumbered RN license in Texas.
• Minimum of three (3) years in the last four years of nursing practice experience in the anticipated subject areas of teaching responsibility; clinical experience in specialty areas.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Minimum of two (2) years in nursing education (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Instructs and evaluates a group of students in classroom, clinical units, and/or campus laboratories as assigned.
• Supervises students in clinical learning experiences.
• Meets with the clinical unit manager or simulation coordinator prior to start of student clinicals.
• Ensures students are competent before performing actual nursing procedures independently.
• Maintains health and criminal clearances as required.
• Submits grades as specified by the course coordinator.
• Maintains clinical and teaching competence.
• Schedules weekly office hours for each course to assist students.
