Job summary

Education Affiliates is seeking a part-time clinical faculty to teach students in clinical settings, with possible nursing skills lab and simulation responsibilities. The role is supervised by the Dean of Nursing and full-time course faculty, focusing on meeting clinical objectives and supporting student learning.

The incumbent collaborates with nursing faculty to address attendance, clinical issues, and program needs, while contributing to faculty meetings and committees.

Qualifications

• Part-time clinical faculty teach students in clinical settings.
• Supervised by full-time course faculty and the Dean of Nursing.
• Collaborate with nursing faculty to meet student needs and attend faculty meetings.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates proper respect for students and has student-friendly manner in the conduct of class.
• Provides assistance to the course faculty to ensure the clinical curriculum being taught addresses course or workshop learning objectives.
• Works effectively as part of the overall faculty team demonstrating positive interpersonal relations, collaborating with other faculty members to meet student needs, participating in faculty meetings and nursing program committees, and responding to requests from management.
• Evaluates student progress toward meeting clinical objectives using the established clinical evaluation tool. Communicate s student progress verbally and in writing to the course faculty as well as to the student at midterm, at end of term and as needed.
• Maintains attendance and tardy records of assigned students and works cooperatively with nursing faculty to counsel students regarding attendance.
• Works cooperatively with nursing faculty to counsel students regarding attendance or clinical issues and assist students in developing an appropriate plan for improvement.
• Designs students’ clinical experiences and assignments to achieve stated clinical course objectives and supervises students in the clinical area to maintain safe practice and achieve clinical objectives
• Provides pre and post conferences in the clinical area concurrent with unit experience, clinical learning objectives, and individual student needs as directed by course faculty.
• Ensures students’ ability to assume clinical assignments and provides for student orientation to the assigned clinical facility, including orientation to physical environment and staff.
