Job summary

Sanford Health in Bemidji, MN is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide patient-centered care and daily living assistance under RN/LPN supervision. The role involves assisting with bathing, grooming, feeding, and other basic health care needs, as well as collecting non-invasive specimens as required.

The position is part-time with two 8-hour shifts per week, every other weekend and holiday commitment, and shift times of 7am-3:30pm, 3pm-11:30pm, or 11pm-7:30am.

Qualifications

• Must be able to acquire a basic knowledge of patient care principles, medical terminology and equipment within the assigned service area.
• Certification and registration with the Minnesota Board of Nursing Assistant Registry is preferred. Certification is required if designated by law (i.e. Home Care).

Responsibilities

• The Nursing Assistant serves as caregiver to the patient during the scheduled work period and provides patient-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Assist with basic health care needs including bathing, grooming, toileting, eating, meal preparation and dining needs; attend to emotional and spiritual needs.
• Administer delegated tasks and treatments and record vital statistics and other basic health information.
• Will collect non-invasive biological specimens from patients as needed and perform clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient healthcare.
