VitalCore Health Strategies in Michigan is seeking a Part Time floating Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant for the West Region. The incumbent will cover West Region sites in Michigan for 2 days per week, with travel expenses reimbursed according to the employee handbook guidelines, serving facilities including Carson City, Manistee, Ionia, Muskegon, Muskegon Heights, and St.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited college/university NP / PA program.
• Must possess current licenses or certifications in the state of employment.
• Experience in Correctional desired but not required.
• Maintains required annual licensure and credentialing requirements for physician assistants / Nurse Practitioner in the healthcare unit.

Responsibilities

• Responds to and initiates care for medical emergencies throughout the facility.
• Identifies patient health problems and prescribes treatment under the direction of a physician.
• Implements medical care utilizing therapeutic regimens approved by a Physician.
• Provides education to inmate/patient, healthcare staff, and correctional staff.
• Documents all healthcare contacts.
• Adheres to safety and security policies and participates in disaster drills.
• Follows security regulations for keys, sharps, and controlled medications.
• Delegates to and supervises other team members as appropriate.
• Adheres to Universal Precautions and other infection control practices.
• Attends training and meetings as required.
