Job summary

VitalCore Health Strategies in Michigan is seeking a Part-Time Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant for the East Region. The role covers sites in Michigan, two days per week, with travel expenses reimbursed per employee handbook guidelines.

Coverage includes Whitmore Lake, Coldwater, Adrian, Ypsilanti, Lapeer and Lenox. The NP/PA will work in a correctional environment under physician supervision, focusing on ambulatory care and collaboration with healthcare professionals and security staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited NP/PA program.
• Must possess current licenses or certifications in the state of employment.
• Experience in correctional care is preferred but not required.
• Maintains required annual licensure and credentialing.

Responsibilities

• Responds to and initiates care for medical emergencies throughout the facility.
• Identifies patient health problems and prescribes treatment under the direction of a physician.
• Implements medical care utilizing regimens approved by a Physician.
• Provides education to inmates/patients, healthcare staff, and correctional staff.
• Documents all healthcare contacts.
• Adheres to safety and security policies and participates in disaster drills.
• Delegates to and supervises other team members as appropriate.
• Attends training and meetings as required.
