Job summary

VitalCore Health Strategies is seeking a Part Time Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant to cover the East Region sites in Michigan, including Lapeer. The role involves 2 days per week in the field, with travel expenses reimbursed, serving correctional facilities with ambulatory care.

The NP/PA provides medical services under physician supervision, responds to emergencies, documents care, educates inmates and staff, and ensures licensure and credentialing.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited NP/PA program.
• Must possess current licenses or certifications in the state of employment.
• Correctional experience is desired but not required.
• Maintains required annual licensure and credentialing for NP/PA.

Responsibilities

• Responds to medical emergencies throughout the facility.
• Prescribes treatment under physician supervision.
• Provides education to inmate/patient and healthcare staff.
• Documents all healthcare contacts and adheres to safety policies.
• Attends training and meetings as required.
