Job summary

CFS in the Portland area is seeking a hands-on Chief Financial Officer on a flexible part-time basis (20-35 hours/week) to lead the fiscal department and manage grant revenue operations.

The CFO will oversee audits, internal controls, and provide insights to the board and leadership, with emphasis on multi-source funding and compliance. A Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance and senior nonprofit finance experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• Senior non-profit financial leadership experience (CFO, Finance Director, or Controller).
• Experience with grant accounting, multi-source fund administration, and drawdown workflows.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage grant cash drawdowns across two funding sources after month-end close.
• Track and administer incoming awards through federal and state payment systems.
• Oversee grant funds tracking and allocation for real property, facilities, and capital assets.
• Lead accounting team and present monthly financials to board and governance committees.
• Maintain internal controls and oversee annual audit process and GL oversight.
