Job summary

Cooper University Health Care in Camden, NJ is seeking a part-time Critical Care Tech for Kelemen 10 medical-surgical unit. The role supports RNs in daily living activities and carries out delegated technical tasks on telemetry units.

You will interact with patients and families while upholding professional standards. Experience of 0-2 years is acceptable; requires Patient Care Technician training and active certification, plus BLS.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Patient Care Technician training with active certification required.
• Current AHA BLS certification required.
• Certification CPT, CPCT-A or ACMA preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and follow safety protocols.
• Perform technical duties directed by RN (phlebotomy, vital signs, point-of-care testing, EKGs, Foley care).
• Identify and report changes in patient status to RN promptly.
• Reinforce patient and family education on care needs and safety.
• Participate in patient satisfaction and quality improvement activities.
• Complete unit-specific competencies by due date each year.
• Maintain safe environment and adhere to standards of care.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff.
• Assist with orientation and training of new hires.
