Job summary

Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL is seeking a part-time Telemetry/EKG Technician to monitor and interpret patient rhythms on telemetry. The 1900–0700 shift comprises two 12-hour shifts per week.

Responsibilities include admitting and discharging patients from central monitoring, alerting staff to rhythm changes, maintaining documentation, and coordinating with ED nurses. Candidates should have a high school diploma, CPR certification, and 12 months of arrhythmia

Qualifications

• High School Graduate, or GED/HSED.
• Ability to interpret basic EKG rhythm.
• CPR Certification.
• 12 months of arrhythmia interpretation (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor and interpret EKGs of patients on telemetry.
• Admit and discharge patients from central monitoring.
• Interpret and alert team members of EKG rhythms.
• Notify appropriate staff for lead wires off, electrode and battery changes, and proper lead placement to ensure optimal QRS configuration on the telemetry monitor.
• Maintain communication logs and document changes in patient rhythm.
• Report rhythm changes to appropriate staff and consult ED nurses for complex analyses.
