Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Telemetry Technician for Delnor Telemetry Monitoring on a part-time evenings schedule. Three 8-hour shifts weekly (3p–11:30p) with every other weekend and rotating holidays. Performs continuous surveillance of multiple monitors and records ECG data for heart-condition diagnoses and treatment.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of ECG interpretation coursework.
• CPR – Basic Life Support.

Responsibilities

• Attaches electrode lead lines to proper body areas based on type of test ordered.
• Prepares skin and surroundings to ensure valid results.
• Obtains and documents ECG readings as directed.
• Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
• Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately.
• Identifies and corrects for artifacts.
• Edits and forwards results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation.
• Maintains ECG equipment and supplies.
