Job summary

Trinity Health Grand Rapids Hospital is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support a high-acuity, private‑bed unit. You will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse, providing direct patient care to adults and assisting with medication handling within the LPN scope.

This part-time, night shift role runs 7:00 PM–7:30 AM, one shift per week, with duties including assessments, venipuncture, IV management, catheter care, and routine bedside procedures on an older patient population.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent and LPN program completion.
• Currently licensed as a Practical Nurse in Michigan.
• CPR or BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Under RN supervision, assess patients and collect data for care.
• Perform venipuncture for specimens and basic point‑of‑care tests.
• Initiate and discontinue peripheral IV lines as directed.
• Insert and manage indwelling urinary catheters as needed.
• Assist with ECGs, dressing changes, and routine bedside care.
• Administer physician-directed treatments and monitor patients.
• Support activities of daily living and patient comfort on the unit.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Graduation from an accredited LPN program

Current Practical Nurse license in Michigan

CPR or BLS Certification
