Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Behavioral Health Unit on the RWJ Somerset campus. The role focuses on collaborative, high-quality patient care with strong clinical judgment and a commitment to safety.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, administering medications and treatments, and coordinating care with physicians and the care team. A BSN is preferred, with opportunities for professional growth and continuing education.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing is required.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification is required.
• ACLS and PALS certifications are required or must be obtained.
• ASN or Nursing diploma is required; BSN preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience on Acute Behavioral Health/Mental Health/Psych unit is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes early.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care.
• Serve as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers for coordinated care decisions.
• Educate patients and families clearly and compassionately.
