Akron Children's is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for a part-time, 24-hour-per-week role. You will provide continuous one-on-one observation under a licensed nurse and handle direct patient care, safety, and documentation in EPIC.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent and BLS certification. Prior healthcare experience and EPIC familiarity are preferred, with weekend/holiday rotation included.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of healthcare experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Experience with EPIC or similar EMR systems preferred.
• Strong observation, de-escalation and safety focus.

Aufgaben

• Provide continuous, one-on-one observation and monitoring of assigned patients.
• Provide evidence-based de-escalation interventions.
• Maintain a safe environment for self, patients and others.
• Remain alert to ensure patient safety and well-being.
• Provide direct patient care such as vital signs and transport as directed.
• Stock linens and supplies; document observations accurately in EPIC.
• Prioritize tasks and alert nursing staff to changes in patient condition.
• Maintain professionalism and communicate with patients and families.
• Follow hospital protocols and other duties as assigned.
