Job summary

Hearing Screening Associates is seeking a part-time Newborn Hearing Screening Technician for the SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City, MO. You will perform newborn hearing screens in well baby and NICU units, educate parents, and record results.

The role offers weekend differential, 8-16 hours per week, training provided, and a focus on early detection of hearing loss; requires high school diploma and basic computer skills; prior healthcare experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• 1+ year of healthcare or childcare training/experience, or related college coursework is a plus.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Must be able to attend all company-provided training.
• Willingness and ability to learn and operate hearing screening equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct newborn hearing screenings in the well baby and NICU units prior to discharge.
• Coordinate post-discharge follow-up care as needed.
• Educate parents on the relevance of hearing screening and early intervention.
• Record patient information and hearing results accurately.
• Maintain and use hearing screening equipment; assist with database management.
• Collaborate with hospital staff and adhere to policies and procedures.
• Uphold conduct and compliance policies.
• Apply training in Transient Otoacoustic Emissions and/or Automated Auditory Brainstem Response technology.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
