Demant and Hearing Screening Associates (HSA) are seeking a part-time Newborn Hearing Screening Technician to perform screenings for newborn infants at Washington DC area hospitals. The role includes training, data recording, and close collaboration with nursing staff.

The job requires a high school diploma, healthcare exposure, basic computing skills, and the ability to work 6–10 hours per week with 2–3 weekday shifts and some weekends/holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years healthcare or childcare training/experience a plus.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting.
• Willingness to learn and operate hearing screening equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct newborn hearing screenings in well-baby and NICU units prior to discharge.
• Communicate relevance of screening to parents and nursing staff.
• Analyze and respond to screening-related situations.
• Maintain hearing screening equipment and assist with data entry.
• Work with hospital departments per policies and procedures.
• Complete training to understand TE and ABR screening technologies.
