Job summary

Hearing Screening Associates, part of the Demant Group, is seeking a part-time Newborn Hearing Screening Technician in Houston, TX. The role involves performing newborn hearing screens in a NICU setting, educating parents, and recording results prior to discharge.

Shifts are 2-3 per week with some weekend/holiday work. Training will be provided to operate screening equipment and follow hospital procedures. The role offers weekend differential and entry-level healthcare experience opportunity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year healthcare or childcare training/experience, or related college coursework is a plus.
• Possess basic computer skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Ability to attend all company-provided training.
• Willingness and ability to learn and operate hearing screening equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct newborn hearing screenings in well baby and NICU units prior to discharge.
• Coordinate post-discharge follow-up care as needed using appropriate procedures and software.
• Communicate the relevance of screening to parents to support positive outcomes.
• Maintain and use hearing screening equipment and assist with data entry.
• Interact with hospital departments per policies and procedures.
