Job summary

Historic New England is seeking a part-time museum teacher to deliver school and youth programs at the Pierce House in Dorchester and the Quincy House in Quincy, as well as in the broader Greater Boston community.

You will co-teach interactive programs for pre-school and elementary students, open/close museums, manage setup and breakdown, handle program monies and attendance, and assist with admin tasks for the School & Youth Program Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in American history, education, museum studies or relevant field.
• Experience working with children is required.
• Willingness to be flexible and adaptable in all responsibilities and activities.
• Ability to drive and a valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Team teach school and youth programs at Historic New England house museums in the Boston area.
• Provide outreach programs at schools and youth organizations in the Greater Boston area.
• Offer programs to pre-school and elementary students using interactive, hands-on history learning.
• Open and close museums, set up/break down programs, and handle program monies and attendance reporting.
