Job summary

Guidepost Montessori is seeking a Part-Time Extended Day Guide for our Central West End school. You will support an after-school program for ages 0-6, helping create a calm, engaging atmosphere as children unwind and connect after the school day.

You will assist with activities, prep materials, and a smooth pick-up experience for families, while collaborating with the team to maintain a consistent routine and enrich the program.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children in school, childcare, or camp.
• Reliable, adaptable, organized, and proactive.
• Warm, patient, and engaging with children and families.
• Ability to take initiative while collaborating with a team.
• Genuine love for working with young children.
• Interest in learning within the Montessori approach (prior Montessori experience welcome but not required).

Responsibilities

• Support a calm, safe, and engaging after-school environment.
• Facilitate a mix of structured and open-ended activities.
• Prepare materials and maintain an orderly space.
• Supervise and engage with children in a warm, respectful way.
• Welcome and engage with families at pick-up, sharing updates for a smooth transition home.
• Partner with the school team to ensure a smooth transition from the school day to extended care.
• Contribute ideas and feedback to strengthen the extended day experience.
