Job summary

Near North Montessori School is seeking a Part Time Extended Day Assistant for students aged 9 to 14. The role runs Monday–Friday, 2:30pm–6:00pm during the school year with extra hours possible in summer. You will support the extended day team, help create a warm, engaging environment, and ensure student safety.

The ideal candidate has prior experience with children in this age range and a willingness to participate in enrichment activities. A Montessori background is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children ages 9–14
• Ability to communicate with children and adults
• Understanding of child development
• Willingness to participate in enrichment activities
• Montessori background preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide care for and lead activities for extended day students
• Collaborate with staff to plan developmentally appropriate activities
• Prepare and organize extended day spaces
• Assist with transitions including snack, pickup, and safety protocols
• Maintain records and participate in training activities
• Perform other duties as required
