Job summary

Columbia Community Church (C3) in Richland, WA is seeking a part-time Middle School Leader to guide the 6–8 grade ministry under the youth pastor's direction. You will create Christ-centered environments to help students grow in faith and relationships.

Responsibilities include leading weekly gatherings, training volunteers, and planning events such as camps and outreach. The role emphasizes discipleship and collaborating with the youth team to implement the vision.

Qualifications

• Strong hospitality and leadership skills.
• 3 years of experience in student ministry or related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and church management software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of the middle school ministry (grades 6–8).
• Create a welcoming, fun, and spiritually impactful environment for students.
• Build relationships with students and families, fostering belonging.
• Teach/preach during middle school services and gatherings.
• Communicate biblical truth in an engaging, age-appropriate way.
• Partner with the Youth Pastor to align teaching with ministry vision.
• Develop and implement a discipleship pathway for middle school.
• Help students take next steps in faith and serving.
• Support small groups that encourage spiritual growth and accountability.
• Recruit, train, and care for middle school volunteer leaders.
• Provide communication and development for leaders.
• Create a healthy team culture and plan events like camps, retreats, outreach.
• Collaborate on creative programming with youth team.
