Job summary

The SBC Executive Committee seeks a Middle School Minister to plan and execute a comprehensive student discipleship program for grades 6–8, coordinating with adjacent ministry leaders to support spiritual development. You will lead evangelism, Bible study, and missions education while guiding youth camps, trips, and weekly programming.

You will work closely with pastors, engage students at local events, and help assimilate young believers into the church body.

Qualifications

• College degree; some seminary preferred.
• Ability to work with students and their parents.
• Ability to recruit and lead volunteers.
• Excellent oral and written communication; strong public speaking.
• Strong relational and leadership skills; team oriented.
• Excellent administrative skills and budget stewardship.
• Basic computer software skills.
• Commitment to biblical Christian principles and The Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
• Background checks and drug test required.
• Compliance with applicable laws and church policies.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, and assess evangelism initiatives for student disciples.
• Provide Bible study instruction, discipleship training, and missions education.
• Coordinate youth programming with various activities and events.
• Promote a culture of student ministry and spiritual maturity.
• Organize camps, trips, retreats, and special events with the High School Minister.
• Engage with students at local school/sporting events.
• Support pastors in hospital and nursing home visits.
• Oversee ministry budget and administrative duties.
