Endeavor Health is seeking a part-time Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) in Microbiology at Evanston Hospital. The role involves performing clinical microbiology tests, maintaining equipment, and ensuring accuracy of diagnostic results, with collaborative teamwork and strong communication skills.

The position requires a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a laboratory science and CLIA eligibility; MT/MLS certification is preferred, with experience in microbiology welcomed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a laboratory science or medical technology meeting CLIA requirements for moderate to high complexity testing.
• MT or MLS (ASCP) certification preferred.
• Experience in a clinical microbiology setting is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical microbiology tests in one or more laboratory sections to aid diagnosis and treatment.
• Maintain and calibrate multiplex instrumentation to ensure accuracy of results.
• Resolve interdepartmental problems and ensure smooth lab operations.
• Identify problems affecting test performance and take corrective action or notify supervision.
• Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with team members.
