Job summary

Prairie Community Services in Duluth, MN is seeking a part-time Mental Health Practitioner to support individuals in homes and communities, helping develop daily living, coping, boundaries, education, employment, housing, benefits, and health while following each person’s plan.

Starting wage is $25.00 per hour. Responsibilities include leading groups, monitoring behavior, reporting to supervisors, and protecting clients from neglect or abuse.

Qualifications

• An individual is qualified as a mental health practitioner through relevant coursework and/or work experience as detailed in Minnesota statutes.
• Fluency in the non-English language of the ethnic group comprising at least 50 percent of clients is preferred.
• Experience meeting direct contact service requirements, including practicum or internship focused on behavioral sciences.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and facilitate groups and group discussion.
• Monitor, report and document unusual behavior and overall medical condition of person served.
• Communicate concerns, suggestions and information to supervisors in a complete, accurate, prompt, respectful and timely manner.
• Report neglect and/or abuse of person served.
