Job summary

YMCA of Memphis & The Mid-South Cordova YMCA is seeking a part-time Membership Associate to deliver excellent member service, promote memberships and programs, and help maintain a welcoming lobby. You will interview prospective members, build relationships, and support administrative tasks while adhering to YMCA policies.

This role requires reliability, friendly communication, and the ability to work varied hours across mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18.
• Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED and First Aid.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Previous customer service, sales, or related experience.
• Basic knowledge of computers.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the branch and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
• Interviews and/or tours prospective members; sells memberships.
• Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and to the YMCA.
• Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
• Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services.
• May hand out locker keys and towels; may monitor the locker rooms as required.
• Employee will accurately report work time via approved YMCA Clocking Method: Branch Kiosk, YMCA site phone, YMCA iPad, or timesheet.
• Attend and participate in departmental meetings
• Assist with facility tours
• Serve as a YMCA representative at special events
• Attend designated YMCA trainings and certification courses
