Job summary

Mercy Fitzgerald, part of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, seeks a Medical Technologist to join the Laboratory team for evening, part-time shifts. The role entails performing diagnostic tests across multiple areas and providing high-quality patient care in a busy hospital setting.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology with potential for ASCP certification; advanced degrees are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or an equivalent combined with clinical training
• Master’s or doctorate in chemistry, biology, immunology, microbiology or related field preferred
• Certification: Technologist (BB, C, CG, CT, H, HTL, MLS, M, MB) or eligible by ASCP

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic laboratory tests that are critical in detecting, analyzing and treating diseases and medical conditions.
• Operate microscopes, analyzers, and computer systems to provide high-quality patient data and support clinical decisions.
• Work independently in assigned areas (Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Microbiology) as needed.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology

Baccalaureate degree with biology/chemistry or related combination

Master’s or doctorate in related field (preferred)
