Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time laboratory support role in the Cleveland Internal Medicine department. The position runs 25 hours per week with a fixed schedule from 7:30am to 11:30am, Monday through Friday.

Compensation ranges from $19.80 to $29.70 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Qualified applicants will have a High School Diploma or GED with lab testing experience; phlebotomy or related clinical training is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with experience performing moderately complex laboratory testing.
• Phlebotomy training or related areas preferred (blood counts, med office assisting, nursing, radiology).

Responsibilities

• Assess urgency of tests to prioritize tasks.
• Prepare specimens for testing and verify patient identification.
• Maintain equipment and document quality controls.
• Prepare reagents for test performance.
• Calculate, report and record test results.
• Analyze results for critical values and report immediately.
• Participate in Quality Assessment activities.
