Job summary

Alexandria Technical and Community College is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician Instructor (Temporary Part-Time) to deliver theory and laboratory instruction in the MLT program. The adjunct candidate will educate students hands-on, align coursework with NAACLS standards, and contribute to program success.

The role emphasizes in-person and online instruction, with course development, evaluation, and ongoing professional development as key responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Two full-time years of verified related paid work experience as a medical laboratory technologist/scientist.
• Certification by ASCP, ABOR or AMT is required.
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field with teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned didactic and laboratory courses in the MLT curriculum including Hematology, Microbiology, Diagnostic Chemistry, Immunology, Biological Fluids, and Phlebotomy.
• Deliver high-quality instruction through in-person lectures, online platform, and lab demonstrations with active learning.
• Develop course materials, assessments, and lab activities aligned with program competencies and NAACLS standards.
• Evaluate student performance in theory and lab, providing timely feedback.
• Ensure compliance with institutional, departmental, and accreditation requirements.
• Participate in orientation, professional development and college-related work.
