Job summary

Roper St. Francis Healthcare is seeking a part-time Medical Laboratory Technician to perform a range of laboratory tests on blood and body fluids, ensuring accuracy and quality control. The role supports physicians with timely, reliable results and assists with training and inventory management.

The position requires an MLT certification or eligibility, ASCP preferred, and at least 2 years of clinical lab experience. Evening shifts, 2 days/week, rotating weekends, on-site in Charleston, SC.

Qualifications

• MLT Certification or eligible by a nationally recognized certifying body (preferably ASCP)
• Regulatory compliance and quality control experience preferred
• Associates degree or military training in medical laboratory technology required

Responsibilities

• Perform routine to highly complex laboratory tests.
• Confirm results and provide data to physicians for decision-making.
• Monitor quality control and instrument performance.
• Assist with training of new staff and students.
• Perform LIS/HIS data entry and routine computer tasks.
• Participate in continuing education and inventory control.
