Job summary

Roper St. Francis Healthcare is seeking a part-time Medical Lab Technician to perform routine and special diagnostic procedures, including phlebotomy, under the supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor.

You will interpret data, verify specimen integrity, and ensure quality results in a fast-paced hospital lab. The role requires 3 years of blood bank experience preference, ASCP/NCA/AMT certification or eligibility, and strong attention to safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• ASCP, ASCPI, NCA, or AMT registration as MT/MLS/IMLS.
• B.S. in Medical Technology or equivalent with prerequisite coursework and clinical training.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine, moderate, and highly complex laboratory diagnostic tests.
• Ensures quality control and proficiency testing for accurate results.
• Operates and maintains laboratory instruments; performs instrument QC and maintenance.
• Manages data entry in LIS/HIS systems and reviews results.
• Assists in training new employees and students.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and follows safety policies.
