Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support providers and deliver patient care in a part-time role. You will welcome patients, collect histories and vital signs, assist with exams and procedures, administer medications as directed, and coordinate care with the care team to ensure a positive experience for patients and families.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; MA program/externship, EMT, paramedic, or Certified Athletic Trainer credentials accepted.
• Credentialed MA preferred; CPR certification is desirable.
• 0–1 year of clinical or healthcare support experience preferred; if MA program not completed, 2+ years of clinical support is required.
• Must be eligible to attain Medical Assistant Certification or hold an active EMT/Paramedic license in Michigan; CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and serve as a liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.
