Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support our providers in delivering patient care. In this role, you'll work directly with patients, assist with clinical procedures, support care coordination, and help create a positive healthcare experience every day.

You will welcome patients, document histories and vital signs, assist with exams and testing, administer medications, and communicate results and instructions to patients while promoting education

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with completion of an MA program/externship, EMT or Paramedic training, or a Certified Athletic Trainer.
• MA non-credentialed option available with MA eligibility or active EMT/Paramedic license in Michigan, plus CPR.
• 0–1 year clinical experience preferred; if MA program not completed, 2+ years of clinical support experience required.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments and collect histories.
• Document vital signs and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and serve as liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.
