Job summary

Community Health Center, Inc. is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant in Norwalk, CT. The role supports primary care providers, conducts CLIA-waived tests, EKGs, and patient vital signs, and coordinates tests/referrals to ensure smooth patient flow.

Expect a 24-hour weekly schedule: Tue/Wed/Fri 8am–5pm, plus one evening and a Saturday per month. The position requires an accredited Medical Assistant program completion, CPR certification, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of Medical Assistant program from an accredited/recognized school preferred.
• Medical Assistant certification/registration or within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Apply evidence-based guidelines for primary care patients.
• Prepare patients for visit with nurse and provider, using Planned Care Dashboard.
• Record chief complaints and test results accurately.
• Perform CLIA-waived tests, EKG, hearing and vision tests.
• Coordinate tests and referrals for specialty care.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and stock exam rooms.
• Adhere to infection control standards and CPR certification requirements.
