Job summary

Community Health Center Stamford is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to provide clinical and technical support in a primary care setting. The role supports providers, performs CLIA waived tests, EKGs, and vital signs, and coordinates tests and referrals within a patient-centered medical home.

You will work 24 hours weekly with midweek and one Saturday per month, ensuring high-quality care, comprehensive documentation, and strong teamwork to maintain efficient patient flow and safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant course from an accredited/recognized school.
• Medical Assistant board certification (AAMA, NHA, NCCT)/registration (AMT) or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• EKG use, appointment scheduling, word processing and computer skills, and familiarity with medical testing procedures.
• Sound organizational skills and accuracy at all levels of job.
• Prior demonstrated excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Must be team focused and demonstrate leadership qualities.
• CHC requires CPR certification (CPR/FPR/AED) or BLS/AED certification.

Responsibilities

• Apply evidence based guidelines from major regulatory and specialty groups, perform pre-visit preparation for all primary care patients scheduled to be seen.
• Collaborate with the primary care nurse and provider, use the Planned Care Dashboard to ensure complete and thorough primary care visits.
• Prepare patients to be seen by provider using established criteria based on visit type.
• Accurately document chief complaint and results from evidence based screening tests.
• Accurately perform and document patient vital signs.
• Independently perform CLIA waived tests, EKG, hearing & vision tests.
• Prioritize daily tasks, collaborate with staff to facilitate patient flow and referrals.
• Maintain clean, safe work environment and manage supplies and medical logs.
