Job summary

SynergenX Health – New Braunfels, TX is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant / Patient Services Coordinator to join our onsite team. The role blends front desk duties with hands-on clinical support in a dual‑role position.

You will greet patients, manage check-in, answer calls, explain insurance, and assist providers with procedures. This position offers flexible scheduling and the chance to grow with a healthcare organization focused on patient experience.

Qualifications

• 6 months of back-office Medical Assistant experience or externship
• High school diploma or GED required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to provide a consistently positive patient experience
• Comfortable discussing insurance, billing, and payment options
• Comfortable performing phlebotomy and injections independently
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced clinic environment
• Attention to detail and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients with warmth and professionalism
• Explain insurance benefits, coverage, and costs clearly
• Collect and process patient payments accurately
• Answer phones and manage messages and communications
• Enter and maintain accurate patient and insurance information in the EHR
• Support scheduling and administrative duties
• Maintain clean and welcoming front desk and waiting area
• Assist with clinical procedures as needed
• Prepare and manage lab requisitions and patient plans
• Room patients efficiently and support smooth clinic flow
• Handle clinical inventory and supplies
• Complete required logs and documentation
