Job summary

MedMark Treatment Centers is seeking a Part Time Certified Medical Assistant to greet patients, schedule appointments, and collect personal information. You will take vital signs, assist practitioners with treatments, and collect lab samples in an outpatient clinic setting.

The ideal candidate has CPR/BCLS certification, phlebotomy experience, and familiarity with regulatory standards. Prior healthcare exposure and attention to detail are valued attributes for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant required or registered.
• Phlebotomy is involved in the position.
• CPR/BCLS certification required.
• Familiar with State Regulations, DEA regulations and TJC and/or CARF Accreditation.
• Excellent written and verbal skills; good rapport with patients.
• 1-2 years’ healthcare experience preferred.
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Schedules intake appointments, records and verifies patients' information and prepares medical records on new and returning patients.
• Check in patients, escort to waiting room, interview patients and measure vital signs; record info into electronic charts.
• Assist Medical Director/Program Physician/Nurse Practitioner with patient intakes as needed.
• Obtain blood specimens and nonblood specimens such as urine/sputum for lab testing.
• Prepare treatment rooms and disinfect equipment and supplies.
• Act as receptionist and handle secretarial duties and reports.
• Triage/manage questions, phone contacts, and fax messages.
• File lab results and distribute to counselors.
• Attend weekly staff meetings and in-service trainings.
• Other duties as assigned.
