Job summary

The US Oncology Network in Elgin, IL is seeking a Medical Assistant for part-time hours. The position offers an hourly rate of $19.00–$21.00 and direct supervision to support clinicians in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities include patient escort, nursing support, exam assistance, injections, vitals, and handling referrals and prescriptions under physician guidance. Prior MA experience and CPR/BLS are required; phlebotomy skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• 2 years experience as a Medical Assistant.
• CPR Certification required same as BLS.
• Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred).
• Phlebotomy skills highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment room as appropriate.
• Provide collaborative nursing support.
• Maintain efficient patient flow.
• Assists physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
• Administer appropriate injections.
• Take vitals.
• Answers patient telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse/pharmacist.
• Phones in prescriptions and makes other patient calls as directed by physicians and RN.
• Other duties as requested or assigned.
