Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support providers in delivering exceptional patient care. You will work directly with patients, assist with exams, testing, and specimen collection, and help create a positive healthcare experience.

The role involves collecting patient histories, documenting vital signs, administering medications as directed, and coordinating care between patients and providers.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED and completion of an MA program and externship/internship or relevant credentialing programs.
• MA-Non-Credentialed I: MA eligible to attain Medical Assistant Certification or EMT with active license in Michigan or Paramedic with Michigan license.
• MA-Credentialed I: CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA, CMAC certifications accepted.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.
