Job summary

Indiana University Health System is seeking a Part-Time Medical Assistant to support clinical operations in Bloomington. You will prepare exam rooms, assist with patient flow, and document vitals and information in the Cerner EMR system.

The role requires BLS certification, a high school diploma or equivalent, and may require graduation from a Medical Assistant program for new hires after October 5, 2025. Knowledge of ICD-10/CPT coding and OSHA/CLIA/ADA basics is preferred.

Qualifications

• AHA Basic Life Support certification is required.
• New hires after Oct 5, 2025 must graduate from a Medical Assistant program.
• Knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, and ADA required.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding is preferred.
• Knowledge of standard laboratory and medical procedures and insurance processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and assist with clinical flow.
• Obtain and document vital signs and patient information in Cerner.
