Job summary

Trinity Health Des Moines is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to deliver patient care under supervision, prepare charts, and support procedures and diagnostics. Responsibilities include vital sign collection, documentation, and coordination of labs, imaging, and surgeries.

You will administer medications under providers and educate patients, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to policies. A collaborative team environment and ongoing training are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Within 1 year of hire, obtain one of listed medical assistant certifications.
• BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training within 3 months of hire.
• Proficient in Windows, web-based navigation, email, MS Office.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors, and colleagues.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care through preparation, vital sign collection, and documentation.
• Administer medications, treatments, and immunizations under providers.
• Schedule procedures, labs, x-rays, and surgeries; provide pre- and post-surgery information.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to standards and ethics.
• Educate patients and families based on assessed needs and discharge plans.
