Job summary

UPMC East/Greensburg is currently hiring a part-time Medical Assistant to join our team for daylight shifts (7:30 am–4:00 pm or 8:00 am–4:30 pm), Monday through Friday. Travel to the Murrysville office is required to support coverage.

In this hands-on role you will assist with exams, take vitals, perform phlebotomy and EKGs, prepare rooms, and ensure accurate charting while following HIPAA and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy, EKGs and basic clinic lab work as part of routine care (as directed).
• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
• Ability to assist with patient exams, obtain vitals, and document information.

Responsibilities

• Check schedules and organize patient flow; accompany patients to exam rooms and assist with walking, transfers, dressing, collecting specimens and preparing for exams, and relay instructions to patients/families.
• Prepare patient rooms and set up instruments; maintain infection control and restock supplies.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKGs and level one labs; assist physicians with procedures and document patient information.
• Answer calls and provide pertinent information including patient education as directed.
• Verify insurance coverage, schedule appointments and manage charts to ensure information is filed correctly.
