Job summary

Unity Healthcare, LLC is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to support a busy multi-specialty practice in Lafayette, IN. The role covers patient intake, vitals, and assisting clinicians during examinations.

The position requires CMA or RMA preferred, strong communication, and ability to handle multiple tasks with attention to detail. Experience with Allscripts PM/EMR and surgical scheduling is a plus. Flexible scheduling 1–2 days per week and occasional coverage for vacations are included.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and excellent multi-tasking.
• Medical Office Experience preferred.
• Allscripts PM/EMR knowledge preferred.
• Surgical scheduling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients by reviewing patient medical history and taking vitals.
• Completes prior authorizations for medications and radiological testing.
• Assist in examination and treatment of patients under physician and NP direction.
• Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Document patient information utilizing electronic medical records.
• Assists in scheduling patient appointments and surgical scheduling.
• Follow HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality.
• Perform additional administrative duties and projects as needed.
