Job summary

Carbon Health is seeking a Part-Time Medical Assistant to support our clinical team with both medical and administrative tasks in a fast-paced setting in Santa Clara. You will assist with procedures, perform point-of-care tests, manage calls, and help maintain accurate patient records in our EHR system.

You will work closely with providers to ensure smooth daily operations, strong patient communication, infection control, and compliance with safety policies; a bright, team-oriented environment

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Assistant experience in a clinical setting.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program from a recognized school.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficiency with EKGs, injections, and point-of-care testing.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with clinical procedures and examinations per protocols and safety standards.
• Perform EKGs, administer injections, and conduct point-of-care testing as ordered by providers.
• Prepare patients for visits: obtain vital signs, document histories, and update medical records in the EHR.
• Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and supplies in a clean, organized, stocked condition.
• Manage multiple phone lines and route information to clinical staff.
• Handle faxes including medical records, referrals, prescriptions, and lab reports with timely follow-up.
• Support patient flow by rooming patients and coordinating with front desk and clinicians.
