Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program strongly preferred.
• Current CMA/RMA/CCMA or equivalent preferred; willingness to obtain certification within a specified timeframe if not currently certified.
• Current BLS or CPR certification, or ability to obtain prior to start date.
• Previous experience as a medical assistant or in a clinical healthcare setting preferred.
• Proficiency in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic proficiency with computers and electronic health records (EHR) systems; ability to learn new software quickly.
• Strong attention to detail with accurate documentation and data entry skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally and compassionately with patients, families, and staff.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and privacy requirements.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for examinations, including verifying patient identity and updating medical history and vital signs.
• Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Document vital signs and clinical findings in the EHR.
• Schedule patient appointments, coordinate referrals, and assist with follow-up communications.
• Maintain examination rooms and stocking of supplies.
• Handle calls and patient inquiries with privacy compliance.
• Assist with medication management and reconciliation as per guidelines.
